The Doge’s Palace, a symbol of the city of Venice and Venetian Gothic masterpiece, is a monumental building that stands in Piazza San Marco, in the San Marco district.

It was the ancient seat of the Doge and the Venetian magistracy, founded after the 812 and it was hit several times by fire and rebuilt. It has followed the history of the Serenissima, from the dawn until the fall, and it became a museum, hosting the headquarters of the Museum of Palazzo Ducale, the Civic Museums Foundation of Venice (MUVE).
